La Fontaine au Loup : bed & breakfast, guest house, guest rooms, guest meal
La Fontaine au Loup / A peaceful stay in Provence
La Fontaine au Loup, literally translated, is the fountain where wolves once drank. The house and property take their name from a local legend linked to the spring located behind the house.
Built with local river rock, La Fontaine au Loup is an architectural marvel nestled in a hillside surrounded by vineyards with an amazing view of Mont Ventoux. The house was the realized dream of Monsieur Mesnier, a founding member of the esteemed wine university, the Universite du Vin du Chateau in Suze la Rousse, about 7 kms from La Fontaine au Loup. The medieval chateau housing the school is well worth a visit.
From the terrace and nearly every room of the house are amazing views. Each private room, decorated in a different theme, is a comfortable retreat with its own spacious bathroom. Huge glass doors allow golden sunlight to spill into the room and each opens to a terrace where you can have breakfast, a glass of wine, relax, read and soak up the surrounding beauty. A spacious studio that can accommodate four people also is available.
There is no better way to enjoy the wonderful warmth of the South of France sun -- and get an enviable tan -- than lounging around the pool on comfortable chaises longues. The scent of the rosemary, green oak and cypress trees that hug the poolside heighten the sensation of luxury.
I thank for all the photos on my website
And Arno Masurel, guest in the "Musicale" room, for his diner photos !
